Why Birds Make Great Companions

Birds are experts at hiding illness - in the wild, showing weakness makes them a target, and that instinct carries over to life as a pet. Understanding this is the first step to catching health changes before they become serious.

Highly Intelligent & Social

Many bird species bond closely with their owners and thrive on interaction.

A Range of Sizes & Needs

From budgies to larger parrots, birds suit many different home setups.

Remarkable Lifespans

Some parrot species can live for decades, a genuine long-term commitment.

Engaging Companionship

A uniquely interactive relationship for owners who understand their bird's needs.
Conditions

Common Conditions We Treat in Birds

Birds are specialists at concealing health problems - the conditions below are ones we actively screen for, not just respond to when symptoms appear. Having a vet who knows what to look for makes all the difference.

Avian Heart Disease

Birds hide heart problems especially well - regular screening catches the early warning signs.

I am very grateful for the excellent care my parrot received at this exotic veterinary clinic. From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The veterinarian was highly knowledgeable about birds and handled my parrot with great care and patience. They took the time to explain everything clearly and provided helpful advice on my parrot's health and ongoing care. It was reassuring to see how experienced they were with exotic pets, and I felt confident that my parrot was receiving the best possible treatment. The only problem is that they don't operates 24 hours a day, it would be much better if they were open 24 hours.

Had a great experience at Exocare Veterinary Medical Centre. The staff and veterinarians are very friendly, helpful, and genuinely care about the animals. Service was fast and efficient, and the consultation fees and treatments were reasonably priced. What impressed me the most was their excellent after-service support. They were responsive to follow-up questions and provided clear guidance on post-treatment care. The doctors are highly professional, especially when it comes to avian medicine. It's not easy to find a vet with strong knowledge and experience in bird healthcare, so it's reassuring to know my birds are in good hands. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality veterinary care for exotic pets and birds!
