Diagnostics

Guesswork isn't diagnosis. Real answers, from bloodwork to ultrasound.

What Gets Missed Without the Right Test?

!

A physical exam alone can't confirm what's happening inside — organ function, internal masses, or early infection often need lab or imaging confirmation.

!

Symptoms often overlap across totally different conditions — treating the wrong one delays real recovery and can mask what's actually going on.

!

Some conditions, like early kidney disease or internal parasites, show no visible signs until they've already progressed.

Most standard panels are processed in-house and reviewed with you the same visit. Some specialised infectious disease panels may take longer, we’ll let you know upfront if a test needs to be sent out.

It depends on the panel and species, some biochemistry tests are more accurate after fasting, while it isn’t appropriate for all exotic species to fast. We’ll give you specific instructions when you book.

Often not, many pets tolerate imaging calmly with gentle handling. For anxious, painful, or exotic patients where stillness is essential, light sedation may be recommended for safety and image accuracy.

Yes, in different ways. X-ray is better for bone and structural detail, while ultrasound shows soft tissue, organ texture, and fluid that X-ray can’t capture. We use whichever or both fits the concern.

We’ll walk you through what the result means, what it could indicate, and what the recommended next steps are  whether that’s further testing, a treatment plan, or simply monitoring over time.
