Ectoparasites
(Fleas, Mites)

Persistent pests need proper diagnosis, not guesswork.

Persistent infestations usually mean the wrong treatment

Over-the-counter products don't always match the actual parasite causing the problem. Proper identification is what actually breaks the cycle – so treatment targets what's really there, not what's most common. For ongoing prevention, see our Parasite Control page.

Yes – reptile mites are a specific issue requiring appropriate treatment for the species involved. If your reptile is showing signs of mite infestation, book an assessment.

Ongoing prevention is the key to breaking the cycle long-term. See our Parasite Control page for what regular prevention looks like – we’ll also advise on environmental steps at the appointment.

Some ectoparasites can spread between animals in the same household – fleas in particular. We’ll advise on what’s relevant to your specific situation and which other pets may need attention.

Often because the product isn’t matched to the specific parasite present. Proper identification determines the right treatment – what works for fleas won’t necessarily work for mange or a specific mite species.

Mange is caused by specific mite species – sarcoptic or demodectic – that have distinct treatment needs from other mite types. A proper diagnosis determines which you’re dealing with. See the Ectoparasites conditions page for background.
