Dermatology & Skin Care

Itching, redness, or feather loss won't resolve on its own, we find the real cause.

What Happens When Treatment Waits?

!

Itching, redness, or hair loss rarely resolves on its own — it usually has an underlying cause that needs to be found, not just soothed.

!

Over-the-counter shampoos and sprays often treat the symptom, not the actual mite, fungus, or allergy driving it.

!

In exotic species, skin and feather issues are often the first visible sign of a deeper husbandry or health problem.

Not all skin conditions are visible to the naked eye. Mites, early fungal infections, and allergies often need a skin scrape or cytology under the microscope to identify properly.

Sometimes, but persistent cases usually mean the treatment isn’t matched to what’s actually causing it. We identify the specific parasite or condition first, then treat it properly.

They can look similar but need different treatment — a proper exam, and sometimes a food trial or skin test, helps tell the difference rather than guessing and trying products one at a time.

It can be either, or both. We rule out medical causes like PBFD or skin infection first, since treating it as “just behaviour” can miss an underlying health issue.

It’s usually a supporting treatment, not a standalone fix. Medicated baths work best alongside identifying and addressing the actual underlying cause.
