Most owners give up on home dental care because it feels like a fight. A proper technique, matched to your pet’s species and temperament, makes it far more manageable – and is more effective than methods picked up from generic online guides.
How to actually brush your pet's teeth without a fight - technique demonstrated in person, adapted to your pet's species and what they'll tolerate. Generic video guides rarely account for your individual animal.
Food choices that support dental health day to day. Not all dental diets work equally across species - advice is matched to what your specific pet actually eats and needs.
Extra support between brushings, matched to your pet's species. What's safe and effective for one animal isn't automatically safe for another - we advise on specific products, not generic recommendations. See our Resources section for further reading.
Discuss your pet's specific dental habits, what you've tried so far, and what the gaps are - so the advice is actually relevant.
Brushing demonstrated in person, with adjustments for your pet's species and temperament - not a generic walk-through.
Diet, additives, and enrichment chews recommended based on your pet's species, health, and what they're likely to accept at home.
Questions answered as home routines build - if something isn't working, come back and we'll adjust. Building habits takes time.

I am very grateful for the excellent care my parrot received at this exotic veterinary clinic. From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The veterinarian was highly knowledgeable about birds and handled my parrot with great care and patience. They took the time to explain everything clearly and provided helpful advice on my parrot's health and ongoing care. It was reassuring to see how experienced they were with exotic pets, and I felt confident that my parrot was receiving the best possible treatment. The only problem is that they don't operates 24 hours a day, it would be much better if they were open 24 hours.Posted on Google![]()

Had a great experience at Exocare Veterinary Medical Centre. The staff and veterinarians are very friendly, helpful, and genuinely care about the animals. Service was fast and efficient, and the consultation fees and treatments were reasonably priced. What impressed me the most was their excellent after-service support. They were responsive to follow-up questions and provided clear guidance on post-treatment care. The doctors are highly professional, especially when it comes to avian medicine. It's not easy to find a vet with strong knowledge and experience in bird healthcare, so it's reassuring to know my birds are in good hands. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality veterinary care for exotic pets and birds!Posted on Google![]()

Some do, for some species – but not all products marketed as dental have meaningful evidence behind them, and some aren’t appropriate for certain animals. We match chew and additive recommendations to species and what your pet will realistically use, rather than recommending broadly.
Daily is the goal for most pets where brushing is feasible, though any consistent routine is better than none. What’s realistic depends on your pet’s tolerance and your schedule – we’d rather help you build something sustainable than recommend an ideal that falls apart in a week.
Not always – suitability varies by species and individual health status, and what’s appropriate for a dog isn’t automatically safe for a rabbit or reptile. We advise on specific products rather than giving a blanket yes across all animals.
No – home care supports professional cleaning, it doesn’t replace it. Once tartar builds up, brushing alone can’t remove it – that requires a proper scale. See our Dental Scaling & Polishing page for what a professional clean involves and why it’s needed alongside home care.
That’s the most common reason home dental care stops – technique and the right desensitisation approach matter as much as consistency. Come in for a demonstration tailored to your specific pet; what works for one animal rarely transfers directly to another.
