What Is Feline HCM ?
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a thickening of the heart muscle, and it’s the most common heart disease in cats. It often develops with no visible symptoms until it’s advanced, which is why early detection matters so much.

Lethargy
Noticeably less active or energetic than usual.
Difficulty Breathing
Faster or more laboured breathing than normal.
Sudden Collapse
A sudden, unexplained loss of strength or fainting.
How It's Diagnosed?
Diagnosis usually starts with listening to the heart, then echocardiography to confirm - a stethoscope alone can't see the heart's internal structure.
