Emergency Treatment

Triage, stabilization, and trauma care - ready the moment you arrive during clinic hours.

In an emergency, minutes matter

Collapse, uncontrolled bleeding, or sudden breathing difficulty need immediate action, not a wait-and-see approach. Our team triages and stabilises the moment you arrive.

Emergency care available Mon & Wed-Sun, 11 AM – 7 PM. Closed Tuesdays.
Outside these hours: go directly to a 24-hour emergency vet facility.

What We Do in an Emergency

Triage

Immediate assessment the moment you arrive - what's critical, what can wait, what needs to happen first. No delay.

Stabilization

Getting your pet's condition under control before anything else. Stability comes first - then we look at what's driving it.

IV Therapy

Fluid support for shock, dehydration, or blood loss. Delivered directly and adjusted to your pet's response.

Oxygen Support

For pets in respiratory distress or struggling to breathe. Support started immediately while the underlying cause is assessed.

Trauma Management

Treatment for injury from accidents, falls, or attacks. See our Critical Care page for what happens after stabilization.

Breathing difficulty, collapse, uncontrolled bleeding, suspected poisoning, and trauma from accidents, falls, or attacks all need immediate attention. If you're not sure whether it's an emergency, call us and describe what you're seeing – don't wait to find out.

Call ahead if you can – it lets the team prepare and means less delay when you arrive. If seconds genuinely matter, come in immediately and call on the way.

ExoCare's emergency services are available during clinic hours only: Monday and Wednesday to Sunday, 11 AM to 7 PM. We are closed on Tuesdays. If your pet has an emergency outside these hours, go directly to a 24-hour emergency veterinary facility – do not wait until the next morning. We strongly recommend saving the number of your nearest 24-hour emergency vet now, before you need it. After-hours referrals to a 24-hour facility are part of our standard recommendation for any owner who needs out-of-hours emergency care.

Yes – during clinic hours (Mon & Wed-Sun, 11 AM to 7 PM), walk-in emergency cases are accepted. Call ahead if you can so the team is ready, but do not let the absence of an appointment delay you coming in.

Keep your pet as calm and still as possible and secure them safely for transport. Avoid giving food, water, or home remedies on the way. If possible, have someone else drive so you can monitor your pet and call us on the way to let the team know you're coming.
